In any rod, the weak link will be the bolts holding on the cap. Having a superior bolt from ARP can mean the difference in a catastrophic mechanical failure. The most important fasteners in any engine are the connecting rod bolts, as they hold the key to the entire rotating assembly. ARP2000 is a heavily alloyed martensitic quench and temper steel and has a strength between 200,000 and 220,000 psi which is stronger than standard ARP hardware. They feature rolled threads and large cold-formed fillets in the head-to-shank area for increased strength.
